More Than One, 2023, fiber, metal, glue, painted wood frame, 48 x 72 x 1 inches framed
Steven and William Ladd were proud to launch the National Scrollathon: New York Edition at The Invisible Dog Art Center in 2023. This engagement endures as New York’s contribution to the National Scrollathon and its goal of telling America’s story through the collaborative creation and presentation of world-class art. From March 5-8, 2023 over 250 Community Artists from New York toured the exhibition National Scrollathon: New York Edition, and then they participated in sessions where they created individual pieces kept as personal artifacts, completed components for a Collaborative Masterwork, and participated in several forms of documentation. To conclude and celebrate, the Collaborative Masterwork, titled More Than One, was installed as part of the Center’s exhibition showcasing the history of the Scrollathon, accompanied by a photographic portrait mural of all participating Community Artists.
